  • FOL Gainesville does not allow pre-buying of items. Everything, and everybody waits on that opening morning entry that is traditionally lead by our Scottish Bag Piper!
  • Modifications to normal procedures (including reduced occupancy rate, distancing, and masking) will be made based on COVID infection rates the weeks preceding the sale. On busy days shoppers may have to wait in line until others first leave the building.
  • All profits are used for the Alachua County Library District and community literacy projects.
  • We do not allow electronic devices for scanning purposes.

    • Advance registration for 1 hour and 45 minutes will be required
    • Only up-to-date members may attend, with membership paid no later than September 23

    • Thursday, September 30 - 10 am to 5 pm
    • Friday, October 1 - 10 am to 5 pm
    • Saturday, October 2 - 10 am to 5 pm
    • Sunday, October 3 - 10 am to 3 pm

    • No scanners on digital media
    • We reserve the right to limit room capacity and to limit sweeping of categories or quantities of books
    • A book removed from the table is considered SOLD. Buyers may not remove large quantities of books from the tables to 'review' elsewhere in the sale room or elsewhere in the library. Choose your books carefully. *** IF YOU TAKE IT, YOU BUY IT ***
  • *Special Note for the Fall 2021 Members Night: An up to date membership is NOT a guarantee of entry on Members Night.
    • We are limited in capacity. But to be eligible to try for a timed entry spot, members must be paid up by midnight on September 23.
    • All up to date members will receive instructions via email when registration is open for the timed entry. You will have to follow a second step to register for Members Night. We will NOT allow walk-ins. There will be two windows, 1h 45m each, with 40 people in each window. Capacity will be limited to 40 people for our first group and 40 for our second group. Between the two windows we will clean the room and do a major restock. We have a massive amount of "first day quality" restock so the second group will have an excellent selection.
    • Because of the large quantity of our top quality stock, those who don't want to make a donation or risk not getting a spot on Members Night might want to skip it and come on our Open Sale days. We have new hours and literally tons of our top tier restock that will carry us right through to Sunday.
