  • FOL Gainesville does not allow pre-buying of items. Everything, and everybody waits on that opening morning entry that is traditionally lead by our Scottish Bag Piper!
  • We will follow the most current CDC guidelines at the time. We recommend masks and social distancing.. On busy days shoppers may have to wait in line until others first leave the building.

  • Presenting over 60,000 books covering a wide range of subjects including books of local interest, and a number of special priced books.
  • Books are arranged on tables covering 50 - 60 broad subject areas on two floors of the War Memorial Building.
    • Gift quality books and some signed by the author; and many first editions.
    • A large number of historical journals donated by a local history professor who has retired.
    • A large number of cook books
    • Many children's books
  • An estimated 60% of the books are hard cover
  • Also, a large assortment of CDs and some games. and phonograph records
  • The book tables will be periodically restocked between the two weekends.
  • Books are not picked over prior to the sale.
  • From Thursday October 6 through Sunday October 16
  • Opening Evening offers a first look will be from
    • Thursday, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 
      • There is a $20 admission charge for non SCC Members.
  • Free Admission - No admission charge for the remainder of the sale
    • Friday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
    • Sunday, 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
    • Intervening week days (Mon-Thurs) 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Great Prices: $3.00 for hard backs and $1.00 for paper backs and children's books.
